Discipline is the bridge
between goals and achievement. Your goals are only gonna get fulfilled if you
remain disciplined. Is there a goal you can’t accomplish? Maybe you know the
way but aren’t able to achieve it? Changes take time.
The main reason why you
aren’t reaching the destination is because of hurry. Then you get frustrated.
That happens to many people because they lack discipline in them. Everyone has
dreams; but many can not achieve. There are many reasons behind it. If you have
a dream and you’re ambitious about it, then this blog is definitely for you.
Let’s start with the
definition of discipline.
Discipline is simply
controlling yourself and doing what you should be doing. Self discipline is
getting out of our comfort zone and going beyond your abilities. When you stick
to your level of comfort, there are chances of you not achieving your goals.in every
field you work, discipline is very important. Studies have shown that people
with self discipline eat less, avoid alcohol, exercise more and spend less time
in social Medias.
Here are strategies on
how to stay disciplined.
Get a goal
If you have a proper
goal, then you should just focus on implementing it. But for implementation,
you should define the goal and stay self disciplined. Do not get distracted by
things. Just focus that have to achieve goal and that’s it. For example you
want to loose weight, so for that you’ll make a 30day challenge and you’ll
stick to it. There’ll be no cheat days. And when you’ll be completed with it,
you will be extremely satisfied. There are times when you may feel demotivated,
at that times just think about your goal and the effects on you if you’re not
completing it. So, just go for it.
Stay motivated
As I have mentioned
before, there are times when you want to achieve goals but you’re not
motivated. At that time, I prefer you watching Tedtalks. When you’re not
motivated you can’t achieve. To achieve your purpose, motivation has a great
role. When you’re motivated, you can make your dream real. Motivation also
improves efficiency and productivity. There is also a saying, “Motivation is
the key to success.”
Start small
After starting, don’t
quit. Change takes time, its not about hours or days; it takes
years. But even when you start slow, there are chances of you to
getting closer to the achievement. For example you took a workout challenge for
a month then start a five minute workout in the first day. Then upgrade to
15-20 minutes after a week. When you’re on the last week, try a 30 minutes
workout. It is as easy as you see it. Just start, no matter what the result
will be. If you’re going on a right direction, you will definitely lead to big
results.
Create habit
Start creating habit.
The more you learn, the more you get creative. I’ve mentioned above about the
workout routine, make it a habit. Don’t be irregular. Making a day routine
would do. Make routine and follow it strictly. In our sub-conscious mind,
habits are stored. If we follow a proper routine for many days, we’ll be surely
used to it after then.
Small steps
What we do is we set a
goal and that’s it. But setting a goal only won’t work. Don’t set the bars too
high. Take small steps in the beginning and celebrate small victories. We are
always in hurry to achieve; it won’t work. Changes take time so moving small
steps would do better rather than jumping to the last step.
Don’t give up
The main problem about
us is we give up if we even make a small mistake. Impatience is what is
stopping you from reaching the goal. Your efforts should never get wasted. If you
work hard, you will definitely see the results. It takes time to achieve so
even if you make mistake, get up and work 2x times harder. You just need to
stick to your goals no matter what happens.
Mistake not failure
Mostly, what happens is
when you make mistake, you view it as a failure; and you give up. That is what an
obstacle for you to reach the destination is. No one is perfect, everyone makes
mistakes. You should learn from your mistakes and step up. When you step back,
it means you’re going close to failure. Remember that things go wrong sometimes
and it’s totally okay.
Make the goal a first
priority
When you’re done setting
a goal, get more time to understand your goal. If you even make the goal second
priority, you have chances to face failure. It is very easy to say reaching
destination; but the work behind it is tough. So, it is better to take more
time for your goal rather than other activities. Make sure that you give enough
time to your goal.
Don’t underestimate
yourself
When you aren’t sure
whether you can achieve or not, you will fail. Setting a goal is very easy but
but sticking to it is hard. And don’t become overconfident on your skills. Remind yourself about why is it important for
you to reach the destination and why shouldn’t give up now. You need to work
hard even if you already possess the skills.
Be nice to yourself
Changes are difficult.
Get motivated and don’t let any obstacle block your way to success. Also, you
may fail but don’t give up whatever happens. New habit would be
difficult at first but remember nothing lasts forever. When you’ve already
committed, give your 200 percent on it. If you fail, forgive yourself. You’re
too a human, and no human is perfect. You make mistakes, you get up, you
achieve.
