Lockdown Experience
Corona virus has made our lives very difficult. In the context of Nepal, a Nepali student who returned from Wuhan University tested positive who was the first corona patient. After that another person tested positive in Nepal. Since then, Nepal government immediately shut down the country on March 24 till July end. There was also Lockdown 2.0 During August.
But for me, I have been in home since March. It has been literally 8 months in home. I got frustrated, I wanted to get out of home but I couldn't. In between all these chaos, I got a chance to learn new and develop myself. Today I will be sharing my story on "Lockdown Experience". I wanted to share this months' ago. But better late than never. This is the second part of Story telling. Hope you guys love it. There is a saying that every black cloud has a silver lining. I have a strong view toward this line. I always try finding good things in a bad situation. My Lockdown experience, I would say a good and a learning experience for me.
I had interest in art (doodle type) when I was in school. I wasn't that good but I was interested at some point in doodling. But that hobby got buried when I got into high school. I had been like 3 years I quitted doing art. So in this Lockdown, I restarted it. And also I have improved quite a lot than before in doodling. This is the first thing I achieved in Lockdown.
The second thing I think everyone has improved; it’s cooking haha. There’s no one who hasn’t tried it yet I guess. I am not a pro cook now but at least I can quickly make easy foods, some vegetables and some other stuff. Believe me before lockdown, I could only cook Maggie's for me. But that alternately tasted good. But now I can make samosas. I mean this is definitely an achievement for me.
Another is writing of course. Before lockdown, I wasn’t that good in writing. I really don’t remember when did cooking became a passion of mine; but it became is most important. I was frustrated because I had nothing to do. So out of random thoughts, I decided to start blogging. Today I have published 30+ blogs. When you achieve something you’ve never thought of, it really becomes a good achievement. Now, I have developed a great passion for writing. This is my greatest achievement, and also now I overcome my fear of writing.
Ever since lockdown and quarantines started, there had been a lot of virtual sessions. It includes yoga sessions, personal development classes, becoming an Entrepreneur crash courses, success stories through virtual medium and many more. So I have attended most of them and gradually I can feel the change in me. There was one class of 7 day yoga training organized by my college. It was really beneficial. From that day onwards I try doing yoga practices everyday about 10 minutes.
Another most important experience is experiencing lockdown itself. It is tough but it has made us strong enough now. Though we are going through extreme corona fear, but I think lockdown has has helped us to grow. Lockdown is a sign to calm ourselves, take a break from hectic work schedules, and learn new. So this event was a great experience.
So, there are a lot of contests all over social media these days; I really like these contests as in these dull days people can participate in contests and get engaged over it. It is also a golden opportunity for students to explore and develop themselves. So I also took part in a lot of contests, I didn’t win all of those, but I really do not regret it. The most deserving person wins and that’s totally fair game. But I am glad that I participated and got to meet a lot of new things.
Next good thing that has happened during lockdown is that I have been close to my neighbors. Before lockdown, our neighbors never had terrace conversations’ but these days, at sharp 5 pm everybody has to meet and talk in a terrace. Out of busy schedule, everyone relaxed talks about meals, about news and many interesting. Isn’t it a great thing to experience?
Another thing I learnt from lockdown is that I have learnt to live with less. Due to higher risk, going in the market is not an option. In my family, we go to the market very rare these days. So, we have learnt to live with less ingredients which I think is a great aspect. We’ve learnt to cook foods with ingredients there are available in the house.
So, in every thick time, we always get some joyful lessons and we learn more about ourselves. Corona virus was a really harsh experience; however it has given us opportunities to start new, to shape ourselves, and to find solution to every problem. I’ve build good attachments with my family like never before. Everyone has started to adopt a new normal and we took a step to build a better world. And yes, the most important lesson in this lockdown I learnt is patience. We want lockdown to end as we have many plans after lockdown. But we have already waited 8 months; that’s a long period of time.
Thank you for your interest in my article. Stay tuned for storytelling part 3.
Have a wonderful day!!
