Corona Crisis: Nepal's Situation

Corona Virus outbreak begins in Wuhan, China, which presently has its impacts everywhere the globe. This disease threatened the planet from December end. It is half a year now that we’re connected in our homes. So I just thought why not blog on quick synopsis on the side effects of Corona virus and Nepal. Well Covid-19 has caused a yawning impact in people already, but also in tourism, industry and each other sector.
Impact on Health

Other countries are rushing to ascertain temporary hospitals and testing facilities. But focused most of these facilities have either been built too late or are overwhelmed in Nepal. Nepal’s existing hospitals are desperately in need of ICU beds and ventilators. Nor have there been nearly enough tests to accurately detect the presence of Covid-19 among the broader population. According to the Kathmandu post,"Lock down remain under no circumstances a solution to the pandemic, because it merely helps break the transfer chains and fairly allows a chance to maximize measures like establish quarantine and isolation facilities, increasing hospital beds, providing training to medical examiners and expanding tests." But the government did nothing. From the primary days, the government failed to recognize the danger and when the threat level began to rise, it began scrambling and caused spontaneous reactions. When the government imposed the lock down on March 24, the country had mentioned just two Corona cases. Before that, the government scarcely refused to gratefully acknowledge the virus would enter the country, with some ministers claiming Nepal as being safe from the corona virus. After four months of lock down, the administration began to come back struggling to alleviate it, as businesses were taking a success and concerns grew that more people would die of starvation than the virus. But with government the citizen should even be equally responsible. We record increased people’s movement publicly like eateries and native tea shops spotting members of the general public in hordes without masks should be completely restricted.

At a time when the new corona virus is causing damage even in wealthy countries with superior health services, it’s highly worrying how Nepal with 25 per cent people below personal income and 5.8 percent of total expenditure on health sector can possibly fight against this deadly viral epidemic. The virus has reached everywhere poor countries around the globe. Its impact to impoverished people has been overlooked globally, and Nepal remains not an exception. Around five per cent of infected people are desperately sick and most of them require intensive treatment. And developing nations' health-care systems are in no position to house this, and plenty of cannot pander to the infectious diseases they nowadays experience.

Impact on People

Frustrations are growing among people living in various corona virus quarantine middles across the country as swab samples take quite per week to be processed. While some people have resorted to local protests at some centres, others have clashed with police demanding that their test results be made available at the earliest. An absence of basic amenities at the foremost of the quarantine centers is additionally not aiding the cause. Contracting COVID-19 has increased stigma and social discrimination among people. Some home owners are reported to evict nurses, doctors and other medical professionals from their rental apartments fearing the spread of the novel corona virus in their neighborhood. Cured patients upon returning home are socially prevented and discriminated against, leading to decrease in moral support. Stigma can adversely affect clients trying to seek out treatment at a time after they are at their most vulnerable stage. Nepal faces an entire of 23 confirmed deaths (until 21 June) due to COVID-19, the suicidal rate is higher by several folds, alarming the mental state status of individuals and therefore the sudden must address them. As self-harm is predominantly found among adolescents, a growth of self-injurious and suicidal behavior within the youth requires urgent attention.

 Impact on Education

With the unprecedented lock down, most parents have worries about their children’s education and future as their school teaching has been halted until longer notice. The Government of Nepal though has decided to introduce a digital education system to continue the teaching learning process, and this has further burdened guardians with the load of faculty charges and online internet fees. It's further anxious for parents with an occasional income who should struggle for daily wages and don't have proper internet access, because it compromises the educational needs of their children. While Nepal can boost accessible and familiar resources like radio networks, television broadcasting and social media for remote education, it's important to assess the sustainability of its own existing resources and checking the probabilities before deliberately imposing them on academic institutions and also the general public.

Impact on Economy

Tourism in Nepal maybe, a source of both direct and indirect employment and will be a serious exchange earner. In 2019, 1.17 million international tourists came into the country. This year, the government set a goal to attract two million. The optimism surrounding the Visit Nepal Year 2020 likely led to a hotel building spree. Now, hotels entail that occupancy has dropped to recent lows. The reality is that if the virus subsides within the weeks ahead, the worldwide economy can snap back suddenly. There are several trillion dollars of stimulus money now sloshing around. The pandemic has affected people's lives likewise as private and public sectors. There is direct impact of Novel Corona Virus outbreaks on Nepalese Economy as Nepal is completely obsessive about other countries and imports. The economic and social isolation cost is going to be higher. Country is substantially smitten by remittance flow, so impact is identified till next 5 years. Unemployment is going to be severer in sustainable tourism related industry in days to return.

To Conclude, The long-term battle with corona virus may help people to win against it by developing vaccines and medicines; however, within the the long term, the country must be prepared for numerous mental state threats related to the pandemic and actions should be established and implemented.
